HOUSTON (Reuters) - At least six firefighters were injured, two of them critically, battling a five-alarm fire at a restaurant and hotel in southwest Houston on Friday afternoon, the city's Fire Department said.
Firefighters were called just after 12 p.m. CT (1300 ET) to battle the fire at the Bhojan Restaurant and the Southwest Inn, the department said. There were no reports of civilian injuries from the fire as of midafternoon, a department representative told reporters.
Live video from an ABC13 helicopter showed thick black and gray smoke crossing a freeway at the height of the fire, which the department representative said had been brought under control. Firefighters were battling intense heat and high winds.
