Golf tournament set to benefit Hospice

DANBURY -- A little over a year ago Chip Neumann, co-owner of family-run Neumann Real Estate in Ridgefield, decided he wanted to make an impact for good in his community.

"After much soul searching," he said, "I selected Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western Connecticut for my support."

With the help of an active and dedicated committee, Neumann organized a golf tournament that raised nearly $100,000.

Now the second annual golf tournament to benefit Regional Hospice and Home Care is set for Aug. 27 at Ridgewood Country Club in Danbury.

The golf committee members are Neumann, Gerard Benziger, Brian Crotty, Danielle Durgy, Patricia Dyer, James Foley, Michael Retter, MaryBeth Prunty, Larry Riefberg, Meg Riefberg and Angelina Valentini.

The committee is especially energized this year by Regional Hospice and Home Care's intention to build the first hospice residence in western Connecticut. "All deserve a choice in dying with dignity separate from a hospital or at home, should one desire, and the innocent children need expanded facilities for help," Neumann said.

"We have pretty much all been touched by this organization in one way or another. If you have not, chances are you will."

There are many ways to support this event, including tee sponsors for $200, flag sponsors for $750, donating an auction item or purchasing dinner tickets.

Sponsorships and donations can be made online or the committee co-chairs can be contacted directly about contributions at http://regionalhospicect.org/events.
